Sodastream, worth it or not?

I'm on the fence with mine. You have to use a lot more CO2 (which is $$$) than they recommend to get a good fizz, then it disappears relatively quickly. The small bottles are better because it would be flat before you used up the big bottle.

No. Costs more in the long run.

I don't know what you're talking about re: the fizz disappears quickly. I've had a Soda Stream for years and I've stored my carbonated water in the bottles they provide in my fridge and they stay perfectly fizzy for a very long time. This was a great purchase for me.

Wasn't worth it for me. I was into it for about 3 months and then started drinking plain tap water again and occasionally buying seltzer. Sodastream never tasted as good as store bought seltzer to me.

My elderly father (oddly enough) uses it every night. Has for years.

So OP, I guess it just depends on the person.

It was a novelty. Used it for a few weeks but then began buying soda again. The syrups they sell weren’t that good, even the branded ones like Diet Coke. Had to buy the real thing.

I love mine, and I find the canisters last a long time, while being very carbonated, and they don't go flat in the fridge. I tried their soda syrups, and didn't care for them, but I mostly bought it to just make sparkling water. Mostly.

I usually put a little lime or other fruit in it, or a packet of True Orange is tasty as well.

When I was drinking it made making a quick Gin Rickey an easy thing to do.

It doesn’t pay for itself. A soda is like a dollar. I could buy soda for 5 years with what I spent on this machine.

I like it because I drink a lot of seltzer and without the sodastream I would have to buy 12 packs very frequently and the empty cans would pile up quickly. I have 3 CO2 canisters, so I don’t need to exchange that often.

I like it but generally only do no flavor or lime. I agree about the cost but I think it’s better for the environment.
