Royal Wedding choir The Kingdom Choir sign record deal with Sony

The Kingdom Choir, who rose to fame after they performed at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, have signed a major record deal with Sony Music UK.

The choir’s stunning performance of ‘Stand By Me’ was watched by a global audience of over two billion, and since then they have been in high demand. Managed by Professor Jonathan Shalit OBE at InterTalent, The Kingdom Choir have been snapped up by Sony Music UK and celebrated the signing yesterday at Kensington Palace.

Speaking about their exciting news, Karen Gibson, conductor of The Kingdom Choir, said: “The Kingdom Choir are absolutely delighted with the journey of the past few months! It’s been a rollercoaster but we wouldn’t gave it any other way.”

“First, the honour of being able to sing at the Royal Wedding, and then the thrill of being signed to Sony! It’s like an un-dreamt dream, one that you wouldn’t even consider, because you never thought it could happen to you. We’re very grateful and very excited about what’s to come in the next few months too…”

Along with the rest of the world, we were stunned by their incredible performance at The Royal Wedding, so we jumped at the chance to sign them. The Kingdom Choir will begin recording their debut album later this month. It will include their worldwide famous rendition of ‘Stand By Me’, which entered at number one on the Billboard Gospel Songs Chart. Their debut album is expected for release on November 2.

The choir will also be performing a headline concert at London’s Union Chapel on November 28. Tickets go on sale on Friday (July 27) at 9am however, there will be a venue presale at 9am tomorrow (July 26).
