Scott Silva, Silva’s son, informed The Hollywood Reporter that his father, who often played antagonists on screen, passed away from natural causes on Wednesday. The Motion Picture and Television Country House and Hospital in Woodland Hills, California, declared him deceased. Dean Martin’s daughter Deana expressed her sadness over her father’s passing in a tweet.

Henry Silva was one of the sweetest, most accomplished men I’ve ever had the honor of calling a friend, she wrote; he was also the last surviving member of the original cast of Oceans 11. Henry, you will be greatly missed by all of us.
In the 1960 film Ocean’s 11, starring Frank Sinatra, Silva played a Las Vegas casino burglar. On three more occasions, he worked alongside the legendary Frank Sinatra. He then appeared as a boxing fan in the 2001 Ocean remake.

Silva played the title role in Johnny Cool in 1963. Co-stars like Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis, Jr. of the notorious Rat Pack were his peers in the film.

More than 130 films (including The Return of Mr. Moto, The Italian Connection, The Boss, and Weapons of Death) featured Silva in some capacity over his career. In addition, Silva has appeared in several television episodes of popular shows like Hawaii Five-O, Mission: Impossible, and The Outer Limits.

It has been reported by Deadline that he has also played leading roles in a number of European films. Silva has already discussed how his background in Spanish Harlem influenced his long career playing villainous roles.

I witnessed a lot of stuff in Harlem,” he told reporter Diane Haithman in 1985, as reported by Variety. If you lived on one block and wanted to move to another block, you had better take a couple of guys with you or risk getting your behind booted.
