The Kansas City Chiefs will try to avoid their first three-game losing streak since 2014 when they take on the New England Patriots on Sunday. The Patriots earned their third win of the season against the Steelers in Week 14 and snapped a five-game losing streak. Kansas City is favored by more than a touchdown.

Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET on Sunday at Gillette Stadium. The game will be televised on FOX. The matchup was originally supposed to be played in primetime but became the first game to be flexed out of Monday Night Football in NFL history.

The Patriots sit at three wins with just four games to go, never having a season of less than five wins in the Bill Belichick era. The offense is abysmal, averaging a league-worst 13 points a game. Their 21-point effort versus the Steelers was just the third time they’ve scored 20 or more points this season. Ezekiel Elliott played well in place of Rhamondre Stevenson, who is dealing with a high ankle sprain. Bailey Zappe started in place of Mac Jones and threw three touchdowns, the same number of touchdowns Jones threw in total from Weeks 8-12 before being benched.

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense have sputtered as of late. They’ve scored 21 or more points in just two of their last six games and lost the other four games. Several things could be attributed to the Chiefs’ offensive slide this season. Travis Kelce has been dealing with nagging injuries all year. The loss of offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy has had a more significant impact than many expected. Mahomes looks as talented as ever, but his supporting cast has been letting him down; the Chiefs lead the NFL in dropped passes with 26. Mahomes has thrown for over 300 yards in only three games this season, a feat he accomplished in 10 games in 2022.
